Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

Matthew Siebert, MD is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon and clinical instructor in the University of Utah Department of Orthopaedics, seeing patients at Primary Children’s Hospital Lehi and Salt Lake City, Utah Valley Outpatient Center in Provo, and Shriner’s Hospital for Children – Salt Lake City.

Dr. Siebert specializes in the treatment of pediatric spinal deformity of any cause, including early onset, congenital, neuromuscular and idiopathic scoliosis as well as spinal conditions such as spondylolisthesis and pediatric spinal trauma. He also focuses on disorders such as hip dysplasia from infancy to adolescence/young adulthood slipped capital femoral epiphysis, pediatric foot and ankle deformities, such as clubfoot (informed by his experience of being a parent to a child with clubfoot), and pediatric orthopedic trauma. He feels that restoring or improving function in pediatric patients is the most rewarding aspect of his practice. He is actively involved in research that is closely aligned with his clinical focuses with the goal of improving the care that is provided to pediatric patients with spine, hip, ankle or foot conditions and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Siebert graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University in Utah. He then received his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he was elected to the prestigious Junior Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Utah. He then completed the Dorothy & Bryant Edwards Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics and Scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

When Dr. Siebert isn’t at the hospital or clinic, he can most often be found cooking elaborate meals and spending time with his family enjoying the outdoors.
